Godzilla vs. the Thing has no slow patches, no icky romances, no padding, it's all monsters and fairy princesses and special effects and cinematic marvels. I watched the Criterion Japanese version last week (I wish they would've had a better print, or spent more on restoration, of this particular film) and the American version I'm so familiar with this week.
